Using Icon Packs from the Samsung Galaxy Store with Niagara Launcher

Icon packs from the Samsung Galaxy Store work differently than those from the Google Play Store when used with Niagara Launcher. Here’s what you need to know.

Limitations of Galaxy Store Icon Packs

  • Not selectable from within Niagara Launcher: Unlike Play Store icon packs, you cannot select or change Galaxy Store icon packs from within Niagara Launcher. Instead, they must be applied through the Galaxy Themes app.
  • No Icon Assistant support: Niagara Launcher cannot detect which icons are included in the icon pack, so the Icon Assistant, which automatically finds fitting icons for apps unsupported by the pack, won’t work.
  • Not selectable as replacement icons: It is not possible to select an icon from a Galaxy Store icon pack as a replacement when editing individual apps' icons.

How to Apply or Remove a Galaxy Store Icon Pack

To apply or remove a Galaxy Store icon pack, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Galaxy Themes app, then go to System Settings > Themes.
  2. Tap Menu (bottom of the screen) and select My Stuff.
  3. Under Icons, select your desired icon pack and tap Apply.
  4. Return to your home screen.
  5. Open Niagara Settings > Look > App Icons and select Default, as the icon pack replaces the default icons.

To revert the system-wide icons to the default, follow the same steps, but in step 3, select the Default icon pack.
