Scrolling vs. The App Search Gesture

Here's a tip if you trigger the search gesture accidentally while scrolling through your favorites: Do quick swipes with your fingers (leave your finger from the screen before the apps stop scrolling) if you want to scroll and long swipes if you want to access search.

Why Was "Press Home to Search" Replaced by "Swipe up to Search"?

Because most users on Android 10+ are using gesture navigation instead of the three-button navigation, we tweaked the search gesture, so it's easily accessible on all types of system navigation. Currently, "Press home to search" is also enabled if you enable "Swipe up to Search," but this may change in the future.
