Short Summary
We'll never sell your data, we stay transparent about how we use your data, and we keep Niagara ad-free. Whenever possible, we keep your data on your device. We only collect how you interact with Niagara Launcher itself, never how you use other apps. You can opt out of personal data collection at any time.
What We Collect and Why
Below we explain each type of personal data we collect, what it's used for, and how you can control it.
Error Reports are technical error logs (like stack traces, device model, and OS version) sent through Firebase Crashlytics when Niagara Launcher crashes. They help us find and fix bugs. Error Reports do not contain any personal content from your device. You can turn off Error Reports under Settings > Advanced > Share Error & Interaction Reports.
Interaction Reports are feature usage reports collected through Firebase to fix bugs and improve Niagara Launcher. We only collect how you interact with Niagara Launcher itself, never how you use other apps. Your app list stays private. We never record which apps you open, how frequently you use them, or any app names or identifiers. You can turn off collection of personal Interaction Data under Settings > Advanced > Share Error & Interaction Reports.
Usage Reports are detailed data about how you use your phone - like app sessions, phone unlocks, and notification frequency. Usage Reports are never collected by default. Only if you voluntarily opt in to join our research program, called Digital Wellbeing Initiative, you may donate this data for research purposes. Learn More.
Location Data is only collected if you turn on Niagara Launcher's weather widget. We send your location to our server and forward it anonymized (approximated to ~5 km² / 1.9 square miles) to our weather provider, OpenWeather Ltd. We cache the weather data for performance and economic reasons, and then return it to your device. We don't link the location to your identity in any way and even scramble our logging timestamps to prevent the possibility of linking the data through timestamps.
Local Storage refers to data that never leaves your device, for example user preferences. This data is automatically deleted when you uninstall Niagara Launcher. Whenever possible, we keep your data on your device rather than sending it to a server.
Account Data is information tied to your Niagara account that we store to provide account related features, such as sending invites to friends or managing your Niagara Pro subscription. We only collect what's necessary to make these features work, and we keep this data to ourselves. We never share your account data with third parties.
Campaign Data is collected to measure the effectiveness of our ads on platforms such as Meta and Google. This does not mean there are ads inside Niagara Launcher. The app is and remains ad-free. We may share limited technical data for attribution and campaign measurement, for example to determine whether someone installed Niagara Launcher after clicking one of our ads. We may use services called Mobile Measurement Partners (MMPs) to integrate different ad platforms and measure campaign effectiveness. We decided not to include an MMPs SKD in the app; this way we stay in charge of which data is collected and sent to which service. Apart from Firebase (see above), we do not include any other tracking services in our app.
Payment Data is handled entirely by third-party payment providers. We never see or store your payment details. Google Play purchases are processed by Google, and purchases made through Stripe are processed by Stripe. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed.

Thank you for caring about your data 💙
