Niagara Launcher Not Staying As Default
Digital Wellbeing Bug (August 2022)
It seems a bug in the Digital Wellbeing causes all third-party launchers to not stay as default. We hope Google addresses this issue as fast as possible. Open the Digital Wellbeing app on Google Play to see if an update is available; this might already fix the issue. If not, you can disable the Digital Wellbeing app or revert its updates to work around this issue.
Workaround #1: Disable Digital Wellbeing App
- Open Android's system settings > Apps > See all apps
- Search for the app Digital Wellbeing (there's a search button at the top right.)
- If you can't find the Digital Wellbeing app, tap on the three dots on the top right > Show system
- Tap on Digital Wellbeing in the search results
- Here, tap on Disable
- It is now disabled. If you want to enable it again, tap on Enable in the same screen. Don't forget to enable the app again after a couple of days to check in the hopes Google fixed the issue.
Workaround #2: Revert Updates of Digital Wellbeing App
Note that this procedure resets Digital Wellbeing apps settings.
- On Google Play, open the Digital Wellbeing app
- Click on "Uninstall," which will uninstall all updates but keeps the original system app

Samsung Bug
Especially on Samsung devices, a bug caused by the system reverts your default home screen. In that case, we recommend changing your default home screen back manually (Android settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced > Default Apps > Home app > Niagara Launcher) and rebooting your phone if that didn't help.
Other third-party launchers are affected by this as well. There's, unfortunately, nothing else we can do other than wait for Samsung and other OEMs to fix the issue.
How to ignore the "Set as default launcher" prompt
If you set Niagara Launcher as default with other methods and Niagara Launcher and want to make the set as default launcher prompt disappear, enter the following secret command: /suppress set launcher prompt or tap on the following link to have it entered for you: https://nlaun.ch/c/suppresssetlauncherprompt.
